Jennifer Snead

Adoelscent and high school math guide

Ms. Jennifer Snead earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and her Master of Education in Curriculum and Education from Virginia Tech Polytechnic University. She started her teaching journey at an all-girls boarding school in a small town in Virginia where she taught and lived on campus. This is where she was introduced to the importance of really getting to your students. After three years she married her husband and they moved to Colorado where she spent her time working at a project-based charter school. In her tenure there she saw the importance of creating meaningful educational experiences for her students.

After having her first child, she moved back out East to Hershey Montessori School, a Montessori boarding school on a working farm in Ohio. This is where she experienced a holistic Montessori education for students and living and working in a community. For six years, she was the founding math teacher where she developed the math curriculum for the pioneer Upper School Program. In addition, Jennifer received her NAMTA Montessori Orientation to Adolescent Studies Certification (12-18) in June 2015.

After feeling the mountains call her back, she moved to Arizona with her husband and three children. After 14 years of teaching, she continues for her love of teaching mathematics/ personal finance and most importantly the relationships with students and being able to create meaningful experiences in and out of the classroom.
